Sharing the Caring

When you help someone out or lend someone a helping hand, it makes you feel all nice and bubbly inside. What if you could share these moments with others so that they can experience the happiness as well? My teacher, Mr. B, and I have brainstorm about a culture hacking project called “E-Kudos” around this idea.

The basis of the project is that anyone who witnesses an act of kindness can photograph or capture it in a few words and push it onto our campus’s flat screens (we haven’t worked out exactly how yet…). Also, any interesting quotes or thoughts that someone would like to share could appear as well. This would get our campus to think more about the little things that make a big difference.

Today I had a meeting with my principal to discuss this idea. He seemed really into the idea and the thoughts behind it. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Let’s share the kindness!

  1. Tara, I love this idea! Brilliant.
Have you seen this: http://www.projectyoumatter.com ? You might like it. The power of catching folks “doing good” cannot be underestimated. It’s so easy to rush around and be caught up in the day-to-day of life that we (1) aren’t kind ourselves and (2) don’t even notice the kindness around us. I applaud you! And, I can’t wait to see those flat screens in action. I love the idea of being in community with folks who celebrate the goodness around us.
